In the warehouse...

  1. Back in your car so that the trunk is right next to the front door/garage.
  2. Find a black rolling cart and load your boxes onto it.
  3. Wheel the cart over to the fridge area and put the required milk/chicken in each box.
  4. Wheel the cart to the door/garage and load the boxes into your trunk.
  5. Remember to bring the cart back inside.
  • Both the front and side doors have easy-to-use combination locks. The combination is the same for both doors.
  • Text 647-620-6335 for the code or if you have any issues getting inside.

Option 1 (preferred): Purchase milk/chicken at Metro (Lawrence & Bathurst or Sheppard & Bathurst), Sobeys or Savours. If they don’t have the exact Tomchei products, use your judgement to buy similar quantities. Note: Milk must be Cholov Yisroel.

To get reimbursed by e-transfer or receive a tax receipt, email a picture of the receipt with your name/address to [email protected].

Option 2: If you’re unable to purchase milk/chicken, deliver the boxes as is.

  • Sometimes a box may get moved, depending on which volunteers are packing the boxes. With a little extra spirit, you should be able to find the box nearby.
  • There may be a rare occurrence where an address was recently added to your route and the corresponding box was not made.
  • If you are confident the box is not there, notify Tomchei by texting or calling 647-620-6335 and leave without the box.

Accidents happen to the best of us, and you are the best! There is a mop, pail, soap and paper towel behind the fence in a second bathroom. Continue to do your best to keep the warehouse clean so it remains a safe and clean environment for all volunteers.

Delivering the boxes...

  • Some addresses may be tough to find, but ALL addresses exist.
  • Before reaching out for help, please first verify that you are delivering to the address as listed on the box label and not the address that you received from someone by email or text message.
  • If you’re still unable to locate the address on the box label, please text or call 647-620-6335.

You are resourceful. Here are a few different options to try:

  • If there’s a phone number on the label, call the recipient and get them to open the door.
  • Wait for someone coming out or going in to open the door.
  • Try buzzing anyone and just say you’re delivering a charity food box.
  • If there’s a phone number on the label, call the recipient.
  • Check for a mezuzah. Maybe you’re at the wrong address.
  • If you feel confident that no one lives there or they moved, then don’t deliver and put all the items into your other boxes. If you already delivered all your other boxes, text or call 647-620-6335.
  • If there’s a phone number on the label, call the recipient.
  • Check for any special instructions on the label. If there aren’t any, just leave the box.
  • If you have any concerns about leaving the box then text or call 647-620-6335.
  • Put it in your other boxes.
  • If you already delivered your other boxes, return the food to the Tomchei warehouse.
  • Use your discretion to figure out a way to deliver the box discreetly.
  • If there’s no way to do so, wait a few minutes and come back.
  • If you still need help, call or text 647-620-6335.
